At least three officers were wounded in twin explosions in a predominantly Somali area of the Kenyan capital Nairobi.
"Three officers have been wounded and taken to hospital," a senior police officer at the scene of the blast told the AFP news agency.

There were no immediate reports of any dead in the blasts in the Eastleigh district of the capital, a quarter often called 'Little Mogadishu" because of its Somali population. No one has claimed responsibility.

"We have had explosions and our officers have been injured," Nairobi police chief Moses Nyakwama told AFP.

A suspected grenade attack on a children's service at a church in a district that borders on Eastleigh at the end of September killed one child and wounded three others.

Ever since Kenya rolled tanks and troops into neighbouring Somalia to fight al-Qaeda linked Islamists there the country has been the target of a spate of explosions and shootings, many of them aimed at police targets.
