Unknown gunmen have in the past 24 hours in a Berom village in the troubled Riyom local government area of Plateau State, killed four persons in two attacks.
A senior security official who pleaded for anonymity told local online news agency SaharaReporters that two people on their way to their farms were killed yesterday and two more this morning.
He said that today’s killings were in broad daylight as the gunmen appeared abruptly in front of the two men, gunned them down and then disappeared into the forest as stunned villagers watched. They did not give chase.
The source added that security officials have searched the area but have been unable to locate the killers. Two suspects are in custody for yesterday’s killings.
