Local online news agency DAILYPOST is reporting that a retired Naval Officer and three Soldiers attached to the Joint Military Task Force (JTF) were on Tuesday morning shot dead.
Militants operating in the oil rich Niger Delta have been linked to the attacks.
The Barge driver was also taken away along the waterways of Sagbama LGA of Bayelsa.
They were reportedly attacked while escorting an empty barge from Warri to Port Harcourt to load petroleum product around the area.
