The first batch of Super Eagles, missed their flight to South Africa and now dangerously behind schedule, even with the travel chaos that followed their protest over bonus cut.
They were scheduled to leave in the morning, on a flight from Windhoek to Johannesburg, where they would then take another flight to Sao Paulo by 5.55pm.
The team failed to board the flight, which was secured with the help of FIFA and are now fighting to get the next available one.
Although the NFF is still confident that they will secure another one, it is by no means certain.
If it doesn’t work out eventually, the first batch will be forced to travel with the second, which means they will arrive Brazil few hours before their first Confederations Cup match against Tahiti on Monday.

ReplyDeleteGreedy people with bad intents. Nigeria will continue to be called names because of the love of money by its citizens. Are they playing for money or fame? See how shameless they are to demand for bonus and bringing it up in the media, it shows how Nigerians love money instead of making their country proud. God will punish them if they dont win Tahiti match.
ReplyDeleteHummmm it is their right, let them claim, before they took that action of claiming for bonus before take off, obviously they may have noticed some undeclared intention of their not being paid afterall, how many times have we heard about footballers not been paid allownces, bonuses and so on. If actions like this are not taken some people so called administrators will sit on those monies. If any of the players sustain injury, they are left on their,I say again if they want to say it in space that they have not been paid they should do so, so long as it gives them result.
