PHOTO OF THE DAY - Abramovich Breaks Silence To Send Message To Chelsea Fans

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is a man of few words - indeed he has not spoken publicly since purchasing the club back in 2003.

Aside from a couple of tightly-crafted statements in official club sources, the Russian oligarch has remained silent while the club have enjoyed triumph after triumph - in England and Europe.

However, on the first weekend of the Premier League season, Abramovich chose to mark the 10th anniversary of his purchase of Chelsea with a special message to supporters, printed in the matchday programme for the game against Hull City.

Strangely enough, pictures of all the managers he has sacked in that time were conspicuous by their absence on the tribute page...
