South Africa: Radio DJ on the run for killing girlfriend

A presenter from Soweto community radio station Jozi FM is believed to be on the run after allegedly murdering his girlfriend.

The Soweto DJ allegedly stabbed his 32-year-old girlfriend to death then locked her inside her flat in Jabulani.

According to EWN police say the suspect telephoned his girlfriend's friend shortly after stabbing her to tell her what had happened.

The circumstances surrounding the death of the woman remain unclear at this stage.

"We have called his phone several times and his not answering. We could not find him at his place but we will keep on searching,” said police spokesman warrant officer Kay Makhubela
