Zimbabwe First Lady Grace Mugabe Elected To A Top Party Post

Zimbabwe`s ruling party on Saturday elected veteran President Robert Mugabe`s wife Grace to head its powerful women`s wing as she makes her controversial entry into politics.

"I am merely fulfilling your wish by formalising and declaring her appointed secretary of women`s affairs in ZANU-PF," Mugabe told the party congress.


Grace Mugabe, 49, won a surprise nomination in August to lead ZANU-PF`s women`s league and has made no secret of her ambition to clinch the southern African country`s top job.
