The Nigerian military on Friday dismissed the Cable News Network, CNN’s report on the army as another orchestrated campaign to smear its image.
The CNN had aired footage of interviews with individuals claiming to be Nigerian soldiers who said they were being frustrated in the fight against Boko Haram.
The Director of Defence Information, Major-General Chris Olukolade, said that the Nigerian armed forces are without doubt committed and focused on the ongoing fight against terror, calling the CNN report a blackmail.
General Olukolade said, “The CNN interview and report is an unfortunate effort to promote blackmail and smacks off an international conspiracy against Nigeria’s national security.”
The Nigerian military spokesman then gave a reassurance that Nigerian soldiers were working round to end and defeat insurgency in the north-east.

Chris Olukoade is not been sincere to himself, if his children were to be among soldiers fighting the insurgency, will he say the he or the government has done what need to be done to fighting insurgency in Nigeria, we are waiting for a day of reckoning when he will no longer be able to defend himself or deliberate sacrificial killing of soldiers you didn't provide lethal weapons to enhance their fighting against BOKO HARAM...Watch and wait what will happen to the so called liars in the Nigeria Armed Forces...I am a soldier and i am telling you that you are lying to Nigerians
