The Nigerian Army has rescued 160 more captives from Sambisa Forest, a notorious Boko Haram stronghold.
One woman died and eight others were wounded as nine camps belonging to the Islamist insurgents were destroyed, army spokesman Col Sanu Usman said.
He told the BBC more than 100 men and boys were among more than 160 rescued in operations on Wednesday.
The Army spokesperson stated on Thursday, April 30, 2015, that the freed hostages were still being counted.
"We are still trying to compute the actual number of those rescued. But tentatively there are about 60 women of various ages and around 100 children," Colonel Sani Usman told AFP.
"They have been evacuated to a safety zone for further processing,” Usman said further.
The spokesman added that one woman had been killed in the operation while eight of the rescued captives were injured.
