84 Cholera cases have reportedly been recorded at James Town in Accra.
District Environmental Health Officer at Ashiedu-Keteke Sub Metro in James Town, Rev. Chris Gawugbe, confirmed to Adom News Thursday.
He noted that due to the over 200 cases recorded last year in the sub-metro, they are educating residents on how to keep their environment clean to reduce it.
"We are embarking on sensitization programmes for market women, toilet operators and in churches to educate them to keep their surroundings clean to prevent the spread of cholera" he added
Rev. Gawugbe said as part of measures to prevent an epidemic, they have set up a taskforce to arrest persons who defecate at the beaches and food vendors who operate under insanitary conditions.
