Ivory Coast defender Eric Bailly has revealed that he is working hard on improving his English in order to fit in at Manchester United.
The Elephants centre-back has enjoyed an excellent start to life at Old Trafford, impressing since his big-money move from La Liga side Villarreal in the European summer.
Manager Jose Mourinho has asked the young defender to work hard on his English to make sure he fits in at the Premier League side and is better able to communicate with his teammates.
“The people have been very friendly with me, the players too," Bailly told ESPN.
“There are players who speak Spanish and French and they help me integrate. I've just started having English classes, too. Little by little!
"It's important for the other players to have confidence in you. It was my dream since being a child to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world and now I'm here, I'm going to take that chance.
“From when I heard United were interested in me, I've been very happy. Manchester as a city is tranquil, very different to Barcelona, but it's a good place to be a footballer."
Bailly will hope to feature for his national team later today when they host Mali for a Group C 2018 World Cup qualifier in Bouake.
